Reducing Waste
Reducing waste is a key focus across all areas of our business. This extends beyond our packaging to the ingredients, materials, and resources we use every day. We are committed to reusing, recycling, and responsibly managing waste wherever possible.
As specialists in vanilla, we maximise the use of our raw materials by processing vanilla through multiple stages to create additional products, helping us significantly reduce waste and maximise the value of our raw materials.
All of our products are packed using recyclable packaging materials. The protective void fill used in our shipments is manufactured in the UK from corn starch and is fully biodegradable, ensuring products arrive safely while reducing environmental impact. We also reuse and recycle cardboard packaging, incorporating it as protective void fill wherever possible.
Within our purpose-built facility, energy efficiency is prioritised through the use of LED lighting throughout the premises. Motion sensors are installed throughout the building to automatically control lighting and reduce unnecessary energy consumption. The building is also equipped with air source heat pumps, providing an efficient method of heating and cooling while reducing energy usage and supporting our wider sustainability objectives.
Responsible Supply Chain
We believe sustainable business practices begin with responsible sourcing. We are committed to working with suppliers who share our values and demonstrate high standards of environmental and ethical responsibility.
All suppliers undergo a rigorous approval process to ensure they meet our quality, ethical, and sustainability requirements. Our vanilla suppliers hold recognised certifications including Ecocert, Fairtrade, and Rainforest Alliance, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable agricultural practices, biodiversity protection, fair working conditions, and responsible supply chain management.
We visit our suppliers in Madagascar to maintain transparency, verify full traceability throughout the supply chain, and ensure their practices remain aligned with our values and sustainability commitments.
We continually review opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint and support the transition towards a more circular economy through responsible sourcing,
efficient operations, and waste eduction initiatives.
