Product Origin

At Vanilla Etc, we source premium Bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar, renowned for their rich flavour, quality, and high vanillin content. Our exhausted vanilla seeds are produced from carefully selected pods that have already been used in the extraction process, then dried, sieved, and steam sterilised to ensure quality and consistency.

We work closely with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to exceptional quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices. Our vanilla is fully traceable, and our suppliers in Madagascar actively invest in local communities — helping to build a more sustainable future for vanilla farming.

Product Specifications

Exhausted Vanilla Seeds are made from Spent Vanilla Beans that have previously been used in the production of vanilla extract, dried, and then the seeds are sieved out to separate them from the bean.

Product FAQs

  • Yes — our pouches are made from Mono-PE (monomaterial polyethene), meaning they are created entirely from recyclable PE plastics. Unlike traditional mixed-plastic pouches, Mono-PE packaging is 100% recyclable and can enter the standard #4 (LDPE) recycling stream without requiring separation.
  • “Exhausted” vanilla refers to vanilla pods or seeds that have already been used to produce vanilla extract. After extraction, the pods are dried and processed to separate the seeds. Exhausted vanilla seeds provide only a very mild vanilla flavour and are primarily used for their texture and visual appearance, making them popular in ice cream, chocolate, bakery, beverage, and confectionery applications.
